"The most important part is to hit first" super atmour be like
Button Mashing doesn't work for the same reason throwing random punches and kicks won't work on an IRL fight. You don't know what you're doing, so you're not overcoming the defense of someone who does AND you're giving them openings to do whatever they want to you
does anybody know what music played on minute 11:00 ?
Im old enough to watch this, damn
It's crazy to me how this one video can teach pretty much anything you need to know about fgs
Great video, ive always wanted to improve at fighting games so this was a really good intro to the basics
It’s called a dragon punch
thank you!
"How you know what I'm gonna do? I don't even know what I'm gonna do!"
I miss your videos

no one mashes as a real strategy. maybe when on tilt or as an irl shitpost to make fun of fighting game fans but no one legit picks up the controller and mashes every button thinking shit is gonna work out. the fgc has got to stop gaslighting themselves into thinking "scrub" boogeymen are everywhere
Once I understood punish windows and frame advantage I realized why button mashing doesn't work. It's pretty easy in a game you know to beat a button masher bc it just leaves them open to knowledgeable responses.
When I first started Tekken 7 I was getting wrecked by characters with easy combo strings. But over time those players became my bread and butter bc they aren't thinking before they act.
Esp against popular characters whose movesets I'm familiar with, it becomes simple to block and then counter. It's interesting that now the hardest fights are often by players who are patient and tutle.
You know, the strategy of how fighting games work was always a mystery to me until this video. I knew that there were well timed attacks and frame considerations, but this really neatly layed all of it out and I feel like I have a better understanding of fighting games as a whole now.
Youtube is crazy, one of the best introductions for fighting games basis is age restrictred for no reason
this clip is so cool and fun, why did it get so many dislikes?
this helped me stop button mashing in street fighter 6
Gerald: Thank you for one of the, if not the, most helpful, informative and well-edited videos on fighting games. Kudos on your teaching skill and artistry.
